In her remarkable 93 years, Valerie touched the hearts of many. She led a joyful, healthy, and active life, engaging in various sports and activities like stoolball, netball, bowls, badminton, rounders, tennis, and golf. She taught at local secondary schools including Downlands & Oakmeeds for over 15 years.

Valerie was married to Bert for more than 50 years and had two amazing children, Shirley and Paul. Unfortunately, Bert passed away in 2005 after a brief illness, and tragically, 17 months later, Valerie lost her beloved daughter, Shirley Langridge, to Sepsis at the age of 51. Despite these challenging times, Valerie remained positive and became an inspiration to many. She cherished time with her dear son and her twin sister, Mollie.

Valerie was blessed with two grandchildren, Scott and Joanna, and later enjoyed the company of her great-grandchildren. 

Although she will be deeply missed, Valerie leaves behind a remarkable legacy that will forever live on in our hearts.
